The Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace Tour
Discover the Chiltern Hills with Red Kite sightings, explore the charming town of Woodstock, and visit the grand Blenheim Palace. Enjoy lunch, see Churchill’s grave, and tour picturesque Cotswolds villages.
Your chauffeur will meet you inside your hotel lobby and whisk you into the countryside. Drive into the Chiltern Hills and see large gatherings of Red Kite birds patrolling the slopes. Circumnavigate Oxford and head to Woodstock, a handsome community of honey-coloured stone townhouses, pubs and a church. Firstly, your chauffeur will drive into the gate of Blenheim Palace, the private home of the Duke of Marlborough, surrounded by 200 acres of magnificent landscaped grounds.
Your driver will give you an overview of the Palace and help with tickets and orientation. Once inside this grand home, the Blenheim guides make you feel at home, direct you around the state rooms, and offer an insight into the history. This large stately home is a gift from a grateful nation to the 1st Duke of Marlborough, John Churchill – who defeated King Louis XV’s armies in Europe on several occasions. The most famous battle was Blenheim.
After walking through the staterooms and Italianate gardens, take a golf cart around the lake. Your chauffeur will drive you back to the village for lunch. After lunch, see the grave of Sir Winston Churchill in the nearby village of Bladon before heading to some delightful Cotswolds gems. Stop at Charlbury, Shipton, Burford and Minster Lovell in a pub for a pint of traditional ale, tea or wine. Shop at independent stores and stop for Scones and tea.
Your chauffeur will sadly leave the country roads and head on the freeway back to the big city of London. Please ask us for overnight Cotswolds options.
